Ideal applicants should be over the age of 30 and possess the following:

• Five (5) years experience in driving a tractor trailer
• Possess a current Commercial Driver's license and any professional trucking driving course certification
• Achieved the level of general proficiency in at least three (3) CXC/CSEC subjects with secondary level certification
• Possess incident free driving record
• Solid knowledge of truck and trailer maintenance
• Must be willing to work flexible hours and on weekends 
• Be alert and have attention to details

• Must be a team player and able to work well under stressful conditions

Trailer Driver (Kingston & St. Andrew/St. Catherine, Jamaica)

Logistics company seeks to recruit an experienced Trailer Driver.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Hauling containers to and from various locations as assigned by Distribution Manager
• Securing cargo for transport by fastening chain or binders to secure load on trailer during transit
• Maneuvering trucks into loading or unloading positions, and checking that the vehicle and loading are properly positioned
• Inventorying and inspecting goods to be moved and may be required to assist loading and unloading the trucks
• Checking vehicles to ensure that mechanical safety and emergency equipment is in good working order
• Logging and reporting any damage to cargo during transportation
• Adhering to applicable Transport Authority and Jamaica Customs Regulations

Required Skills/Competencies:

• Must be dependable and possess the ability to work independently
• Excellent judgement and decision making skills
• Pays close attention to detail
• Ability to drive in adverse weather conditions and work irregular hours

Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Articulated driver's license
• Minimum of five (5) years safe trailer driving experience
• Possess a police record issued within the last 12 months
• Must be able to read and write fluently
• Must be between that ages of 25 - 50 years and reside in Kingston and St. Andrew or St. Catherine.
• Excellent communication skills with strong attention to detail
