Bartenders (Turks & Caicos Islands) - Margaritaville Grand Turk (Margaritaville Caribbean)

We are seeking to identify Bartenders who are responsible for excellence in guest satisfaction by serving food and beverages to the guests according to established standards and keeps bar clean at all times.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
  • Preparing alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages for bar and patrons.
  • Possesses full knowledge of food and beverage products served and utilizes suggestive selling techniques.
  • Takes orders and delivers food and beverage in a timely manner.
  • Ensures guests receive immediate, friendly, and personalized service to build their intent to return.
  • Guides guests through menus, answers questions thoroughly, and provides specific item suggestions and information about the establishment and the island.
  • Maintains positive guest satisfaction by exceeding service expectations.
  • Handles guest complaints or directs them to a manager.
  • Operates point-of-sale system with high level of efficiency and handles large amounts of currency.
  • Practices proper cash handling procedures by addressing the point-of-sale system after every transaction, properly organizing money, counting change back to guests, and following appropriate checkout procedures.
  • Sets up and breaks down equipment and supplies.
  • Maintains work areas by organizing and cleaning service stations and pre-bussing tables and clearing counters as needed of all used glassware/plateware/silverware/etc.
  • Maintains high-level of knowledge regarding the company’s products and happenings, and communicates properly to guests; establishes rapport with all guests through name recognition.
  • Adheres to responsible alcohol service established by company policy.
  • Understands and utilizes all safety and sanitation practices as defined in the safety program and reports any accidents to management.
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures as established in the Staff Member Handbook.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
  • At least two (2) years experience working as a bartender in a high volume restaurant
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with other departments and outside contacts.
  • Ability to complete a heavy workload and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Good judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Twenty-three (23) years of age or older.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma. Training in Hospitality/Tourism will be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics with the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Must speak fluent English. A second language will be considered an asset.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high energy, and physically demanding environment.
  • Must be able to lift items weighing up to 50lbs.
  • Must be able to spend 100% of working time standing, walking, and reaching.
Work Environment
  • Exposed to weather conditions and prevalent temperature changes.
  • Subject to moderate to high ambient noise levels.
  • Frequently required to function in narrow aisles or passageways.
  • Frequently required to wash hands and/or wear gloves.
Person must be able to work long hours, holidays and weekends, and be willing to work as part of a team.

Room Technician

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that furniture, fixtures and equipment in guest rooms and associated areas are properly maintained. He/she works closely with the Rooms Division to ensure that the physical appearance in and around the room is in keeping with the highest quality and standards.

Specific Requirements/Duties of the Position Include:
  • Checking electrical, air conditioning and plumbing equipment and fixtures in rooms to ensure they are in optimum condition physically and operationally.
  • Checking carpentry, painting, masonry and tiling in the rooms to ensure the rooms are in optimum condition.
  • Inspecting internal and external structure of rooms and reporting defects.
  • Assisting senior technicians and tradesmen for more complex repairs as necessary.
  • Carrying out assigned duties in respect of firefighting, fire protection and safety, and familiarity with operating firefighting equipment.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Minimum of a High School Leaving Certificate/Diploma
  • Certificate from recognised Tertiary and/or Vocational Training Institution
  • Skill level and/or Technical Competence equivalent to at least Level III HEART Trust NTA certification
  • Previous experience in a similar role or related field

Role Responsibilities:

Starting salary: USD $8.50 - USD $9.50 per hour + service charge + tips 

Food & Beverage Supervisor/IRD - The Shore Club

Role Responsibilities:
  • Must have in-room dining experience
  • Assist F&B Director with developing and implementing strategies to achieve revenue and profit goal
  • Ensures that all interdepartmental transfers are properly recorded
  • Assists in the development of the marketing plan for the outlets by keeping current on competitors on a regular basis
  • Assists Restaurant Managers in developing and implementing special promotions to increase revenue
  • Assists and supervises Sui Ren, Sea Grapes and Colonnade which includes Pool & Beach cocktail servers and room service in regards to beverage operations and keeps close communication with respective Managers
  • Ensure maintenance and standards of employee uniforms, grooming and personal appearance is in line with our service culture requirements
  • Provide employees with current up-to-date information on revenue and service goals
  • EP resort is essential. Credit card and cash handling experience
  • Assist with maintenance of POS systems and report as well as analysis on gross profit
Salary for this position is USD $23,000 per annum plus service charge. This salary is based on experience and qualifications.

Retail Sales Team Lead (Grand Turk, Turks & Caicos Islands) - Digicel

This role requires an experienced and mature operational sales professional with a keen business sense to meet and surpass (within the limits of established Digicel policies and procedures) the sales objectives and to ensure that the store delivers quality service to all customers at all times.

Main Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Supervises the function of all store employees and contributes to maximizing the overall profit of the store.
  • Dispatches and coordinates customer installations, service calls with technicians whilst ensuring customer “Best in Class Experience” at all times.

Controls and analyses, on an on-going basis, the following:

  • Customer satisfaction
  • Stock availability and reconciliation
  • The appearance of the store
  • The delivery of customer service of the highest quality at all times
  • On-the-job training for the Sales Experience Representatives

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Minimum requirement of an Associates Degree in Business Management, or related field
  • Two years of experience in similar capacity
  • Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Great customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to supervise and motivate staff
  • A second language (Creole, and/or Spanish) is desirable
