Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Carpenter to join our hotel’s maintenance team. The Carpenter will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining various wooden structures and fixtures throughout the hotel to ensure a safe, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing environment for our guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform repair and maintenance of doors, windows, furniture, flooring, paneling, partitions, and other wooden fixtures.
  • Install and assemble cabinetry, shelves, countertops, and other woodwork as needed.
  • Repair or replace damaged woodwork in guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine measurements and materials.
  • Ensure all carpentry work complies with local codes and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other maintenance staff to complete larger renovation or improvement projects.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workshop and inventory of tools and materials.
  • Respond to maintenance requests from other departments in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential repair or safety needs.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in carpentry is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a carpenter, preferably in a hotel, resort, or commercial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of wood properties, carpentry techniques, and construction tools.
  • Ability to read technical documents, blueprints, and drawings.

Kitchen Manager (Montego Bay, Jamaica) - Margaritaville Caribbean


 POSITION SUMMARY

Directly responsible for all kitchen functions including food purchasing, preparation and maintenance of quality standards; sanitation and cleanliness; training of employees in methods of cooking, preparation, plate presentation, portion and cost control, and sanitation and cleanliness.


ROLE DESCRIPTION/COMPETENCY:
  • Supervises kitchen shift operations and ensures compliance with all Food & Beverage policies, standards and procedures.
  • Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the restaurant’s recipes, portioning, cooking and serving standards.
  • Responsible for maintaining appropriate cleaning schedules for kitchen floors, mats, walls, hoods, other equipment and food storage areas.

The Tryall Club is seeking a skilled and experienced Plumber to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing systems to ensure efficient water distribution and waste management.

Under general supervision of the Maintenance Coordinator, responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining pipes, fixtures and other plumbing equipment and facilities used for water distribution and waste water disposal throughout the property.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
  • Certificate in Plumbing Technology from HEART/NTA or equivalent qualification.
  • One to three years of maintenance experience within the specialized trade area
  • High School Education
  • Certification from a HEART or National Training Institute

Knowledge of:
  • Principles, procedures, skills, tools and materials used in specialized trade areas.
  • Uses and purposes of general maintenance tools and equipment.

  • Ensures that specified plumbing equipment, fixtures and facilities are serviced in compliance with the maintenance schedule.
  • Conducts periodic maintenance checks at Sewage Treatment Plant, manholes, grease traps and septic pits.
  • Accepts fault report and requests from customers and submits to the Dispatch Clerk.
  • Diagnoses malfunctioning fixtures and appliances such as sinks, tubs, toilets and water heaters.
  • Replaces faulty plumbing components of machines.
  • Performs driving duties when requested and ensures that assigned vehicle is used safely and strictly within the guidelines set out by the Club.
  • Monitors records and implements water conservation opportunities throughout the Club.
  • Inspects jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean.
  • Liaises with the Supervisor and updates them on the progress of repair and maintenance work.
  • Ensures that safety regulations and guidelines are adhered to.

Ultra-luxury villas are currently seeking experienced and dynamic Chef De Cuisine/Chef de Parties/Junior Chefs/Sous Chef with a strong culinary outlook, creativity in delivery and presentation, plus a hands-on approach with a warm Jamaican personality.


The Chef will be responsible for food planning, design and preparation including, but not limited to, menu and recipe creation, food and ingredient purchasing, kitchen organization and hygiene. The incumbent is required to maintain the highest level of professional food quality and sanitation standards.

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Must have minimum Level 3 or 4 HEART Certification or from another recognized training institution.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in the hospitality industry (preferably a five star or five diamond establishments).
  • Chefs-Must be versatile in cooking ALL MEALS (International and Gourmet Cuisine). A sound knowledge of Pastry Making would be an asset.
  • At least five (5) years hands-on experience in the delivery of meticulous guest service.
  • Experience managing five (5) or more persons.
  • The willingness and be ability to sleep over (nights) at the villa.
  • A valid Food Handlers Permit.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
  • Very flexible with time.

 JOB SUMMARY:



The Head Sommelier will be responsible for managing the hotel’s wine program, including the selection, procurement, and serving of wines in our dining outlets and private events. The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of wines, exceptional customer service skills, and a passion for educating staff and guests about wine pairings and trends. As a key member of the Food and Beverage team, the Head Sommelier will ensure that the hotel’s wine offerings are of the highest quality and enhance the overall guest experience.


Key Responsibilities:
Wine Selection & Inventory Management:
  • Curate and manage the hotel’s wine list, ensuring a diverse and high-quality selection of wines from various regions and varietals.
  • Maintain optimal stock levels and work closely with vendors to source new wines, ensuring that inventory is rotated and well-kept.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop wine pairings that complement the menu offerings.
Guest Interaction & Service:
  • Interact with guests to offer personalized wine recommendations based on their preferences and menu choices.
  • Create memorable experiences by offering wine flights, private wine tastings, and educating guests on wine regions, production methods, and flavors.

Event Management:

  • Maintain Wine Knowledge & Trends:
  • Keep up to date with global wine trends, industry innovations, and new product offerings.

Administrative & Reporting:
  • Manage wine-related budgets, monitor costs, and ensure that financial targets for wine sales and profitability are met.
  • Report on inventory, sales trends, and guest feedback regarding the wine program to the F&B Manager.
Qualifications
Education and Certification:
  • WSET Level 3 or equivalent certification in wine is required. A diploma or higher qualification (e.g., Master Sommelier) is highly preferred.
  • Continued professional development in wine and sommelier-related courses or certifications is a plus.
Experience:
  • At least 5 years of experience working in a sommelier role, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management position.
  • Experience in a fine-dining restaurant or luxury hotel setting is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record of managing wine lists, staff training, and enhancing the guest experience.
