Job Summary:
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Assistant Pastry Chef to support the Pastry Chef in the preparation, production, and presentation of high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods for our guests. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patisserie, strong organizational skills, and the ability to maintain high standards in a fast-paced hotel kitchen environment.Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Pastry Chef in the daily operations of the pastry kitchen.
- Reports to Executive Chef and Executive Pastry Chef
- Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, desserts, breads, and other baked goods according to hotel standards.
- Contribute ideas for new dessert items and seasonal menus.
- Ensure proper portion control and presentation of all pastry items.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry station and storage areas.
- Assist in ordering, inventory management, and receiving of pastry-related supplies.
- Ensure compliance with food hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Train and supervise junior staff and pastry apprentices as needed.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure smooth service during functions, banquets, and a la carte service.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Cook, Commis Pastry, or Assistant Pastry Chef in a hotel, restaurant, or bakery.
- Formal culinary or pastry education is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, baking processes, and dessert presentation.
- Excellent time management and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- A passion for food, creativity, and attention to detail.
