Resident Nurse (Montego Bay, Jamaica) - The Tryall Club

SUMMARY


The incumbent will be responsible for providing basic health care to all, Guests and Employees and has responsibility to maintain health and safety regulations for the organization. This will include the effective accident prevention and other safety programs.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s Nursing Degree in general nursing from an accredited School of Nursing
  • Registered Nurse with the Nursing Council of Jamaica as a registered nurse (License to be renewed every two years)
  • At least 5 years’ experience with 3 years’ experience in emergency care
  • Prior experience in the hospitality industry is definitely an asset
  • Knowledge in fundamentals of Nursing Life, Behavioral and Natural Medical Sciences, Pharmacology and Therapeutics, Health and related legislation.

  • Displays positive work attitude, ethical conduct, understanding human relations, display calm, controlled and purposeful manner, reliability and assertiveness.
SKILLS:
  • Clinical communication, interpersonal leadership, diagnostic and problem solving skills
  • Decision making and determining course of action on patient problems
  • Ability to differentiate and determine the patients need for medical and other interventions
  • Perform administrative functions, such as taking responsibility of budget, planning, ordering supplies, inventory control.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
  • Understands the proper functioning and utilization of equipment pertinent to duties being performed
  • Excellent communication skills in oral and written forms
  • Effective organization and time management skills
  • Maintains nursing supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies; using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
  • Organize Health Seminars and Emergency Preparedness
  • Very Flexible and Adaptable

Occupational Health Nurse (Kingston, Jamaica) - SEPROD

The role:
The incumbent will be responsible for planning, co-ordinating and implementing occupational health programme designed to provide a high standard of professional health care and advice to employees.

Specific Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and maintain the Company's occupational health care programmes
  • Ensure the implementationof the Company's occupational health care programme by counselling employees on health related matters and consulting with external medical personnel and services as necessary
  • Manage and evaluate sick leaves and absenteeism for the detection and follow-up of occupation related illness, post-sick leave as well as accident fitness evaluation
  • Investigate and recommend systems for improved health care 
  • Monitor, maitain and control the supply of drugs and other materials used by subsidiaries
  • Co-ordinate the visitation programme for sick and disabled employees
  • Inspect plant facilities, identify and report occupational health hazards
  • Monitor the incidence and frequency of occupational ailments of individual employees on the job and take the necessary corrective measures
  • Monitor investigation of injuries sustained by employees on the job and ensure the completionof necessary insurance and other claims
  • Monitor and ensure provision of valid Food Handler's Permit for the relevant employees
  • Collaborate with the Ministry of Health and other agencies on medical advisoroes of national importance and communicate with employees as required
  • Assist with Safety, GMP and other halth related educational programmes and activities
  • Coordinate the scheduling and implementation of periodic First Aid training


Qualifications and Experience:
  • BSc in Nursing from an accredited institution
or
  • Diploma or equivalent in Industrial Nursing Administration
  • Registered General Certificate in Nursing Practice
  • Training in midwifery and First Aid are distinct assets
  • Training in Occupational Health and Safety
  • Four (4) years nursing experience in an industrial environment

Registered Nurse (Kingston, Jamaica)

REGISTERED NURSE.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILTIES:
  • Accompany the MOBILE HEALTH CARE UNIT on visits to clients and to community outreach events, to render routine health checks and other health care services
  • On the days when Mobile Unit is not deployed, to assist the Guardian Health Claims Department tp process claims and address customer queries
  • Oversee the registration of clients seeking to access the services of the Mobile Unit
  • Manage the inventory of supplies on the Mobile Unit and ensure that equipment and machines are properly maintained and kept in good condition
  • Prepare and make presentations on topical health issues

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
  • First degree in Nursing from a recognized institution
  • Registration with the NURSING COUNCIL OF JAMAICA
  • At least five (5) years experience
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft  Office and the relevant health insurance computer systems
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must possess a valid driver's license for at least two (2) years ans a reliable motor car
  • Required to travel islandwide
  • Required to work on weekends and public holidays, as necessary
