Room Technician (Montego Bay, St. James, Jamaica) - Iberostar Rose Hall

As a Room Technician, your main responsibilities will be:
  1. Check and ensure rooms are in good condition.
  2. AC working
  3. All lights are working
  4. Balcony door rubber well fixed
  5. Balcony door working well
  6. Patio well painted
  7. All wooden frames free from paint
  8. Ensure all furniture’s are in good condition
  9. Ensure TV, DVD, and remotes are functional
  10. Ensure all cable for TV and DVD are hidden , not to be seen at all
  11. Check shower , bath and face basin drains for leaks and make sure they are functional
  12. Ensure shower head is free from scale and flowing properly
  13. Ensure AC is working at a desired temperature and filters are clean regularly
  14. Check door locks and lubricate when necessary
  15. Check and ensure refrigerator is working well
  16. Re-grout shower if necessary
  17. 1Ensure shades are fixed properly on lamps
  18. Check and update new hotel system every hour and at the end of shift and read emails daily
  19. Compile a daily report on all rooms you were able to check and what was done and what else needs to be done, Development if any
  20. Ensure all staff are assigned duties until the end of their shift
  21. Replace all broken tiles on the floor where necessary in the room and hallways

  3. Know how to assess technical errors and correct same or recommend.

Electricians (Hanover, Jamaica) - Princess Hotel & Resorts

About the job Electricians

The Electrician for a hotel is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures throughout the hotel premises. They ensure that all electrical components are in proper working order to support the hotel's operations and provide a safe and comfortable environment for guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, and equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues, identifying the root causes and implementing necessary repairs promptly.
  • Repair or replace faulty wiring, switches, outlets, and fixtures as needed.
  • Install new electrical systems, components, and fixtures according to hotel standards and safety regulations. Upgrade existing electrical systems to meet modern energy efficiency and safety standards.
  • Respond to emergency electrical issues promptly, assessing the situation and taking corrective actions to minimize disruptions and hazards.
  • Ensure all electrical work adheres to local electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards. Identify potential safety hazards and recommend solutions to mitigate risks.
  • Maintain accurate records of electrical maintenance activities, repairs, and installations.
  • Coordinate with other departments, such as housekeeping and engineering, to schedule maintenance and repairs without disrupting guest experiences.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in electrical systems and equipment.

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an apprenticeship program or trade school is preferred.
  • Relevant electrician's license or certification in compliance with local regulations.
  • Proven experience as an electrician, preferably in a hospitality or commercial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, circuits, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Familiarity with electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints and diagrams.
  • Proficiency in using electrical tools, meters, and testing equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Physical fitness and ability to perform tasks that require bending, lifting, and climbing.

Maintenance Technician (Kingston, Jamaica) - National Housing Trust


The National Housing Trust seeks to identify a Maintenance Technician for its Property Management Department. The Maintenance Technician provides routine maintenance services to electrical, plumbing and telephone systems, and also assists in monitoring the work done by contractors.

Main Duties:

Duties specific to the position include:
  • Conducting routine checks on air conditioning units, generators and water supply
  • Ensuring that work done by external service providers conforms with regulations
  • Undertaking minor repairs on office equipment and appliances
  • Assisting with office refurbishing and providing electrical maintenance services
  • Participating in disaster management activities, and 
  • Maintaining records of materials, equipment used and work performed

Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate must have:
  • Certificate in Electrical and Mechanical Installation/Maintenance from a recognized institution
  • At least two (2) years working experience in building maintenance or construction 
  • At least five (5) CSEC subjects including Mathematics and English Language
The following skills/competencies are required at above average levels:
  • Customer service
  • Planning and organizing

  • Communication skills (oral and written)
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • Computer proficiency
Knowledge of:
  • Jamaican building code
  • Electrical circuits, fittings and appliances

Electrical Technician (Kingston, Jamaica) - Massy Distribution (Jamaica) Limited

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Assemblies, installs, inspects, tests, maintains and repairs where required; electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures
  • Perform preventative maintenance on standby generators, change-over switch assemblies, and forklift and standby generator batteries
  • Plans layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes
  • Prepares sketches or follows blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes
  • Places conduit (pipes or tubing) inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes
  • Provides assistance during emergencies by operating generators


Qualifications and Experience:
  • A certified Electrician's license
  • Three (3) years experience in electrical installation and repairs

Golden Krust Caribbean Bakery and Grill seeks an accomplished Maintenance Mechanical/Electrical Engineer with strong Electrical-PLC/CNC-Mechanical expertise to join our team.

  • Construct and fabricate parts, using hand tools and specifications

  • Have at least a Diploma or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in a similar field
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Strong problem solving skills

  • Able to follow technical drawings, building plans and wiring diagram
  • Able to work carefully, methodically and safely

Electrician (Roseau, Dominica) - Ministry of Finance, Dominica

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Electrician, Building Maintenance Unit, Ministry of Finance.

Duties:
Under the direction of the Building Maintenance Manager, the Electrician is required to install and maintain wiring, control and lighting systems:
  • Inspect electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers
  • Identify electrical problems with a variety of testing devices
  • Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tolls
  • Collaborate with contractors, construction workers
  • Electrical Service division, analyse problem and identifies appropriate tools and material for repair, follow health and safety standards and comply with building codes;
  • Write report documenting the problem and summary of actions taken;
  • Perform inspections of electrical systems to identify and replace faulty parts on the various premises occupied by the Divisions of Ministry of Finance


Qualifications and Experience:
  • Candidates must hold a diploma in the field of Electrical Engineering
Remunerations: Salary will be at the Pay Scale 19 - 12
$27,843.43 - $38,575.44

The candidate must be able to work with little supervision and must be capable of multitasking.
