Restaurants Manager/Maitre D' (Hanover, Jamaica) - Grand Palladium Hotels & Resorts

 

The primary goal of the Restaurants Manager/Maitre D' is to be responsible for the overall atmosphere of all the restaurant outlets (14); supervising and ensuring smooth running of the restaurants ensuring that excellent service quality is delivered and complete adherence to the hotel policy and standards.

Summary of Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Direct and delegate tasks to team members in order to ensure guests have a high quality dining experience
  • Responsible for the appearance, service standards and on the job day-to-day training of positions such as waiter, hostess and waitresses.
  • Oversees and proactively addresses guest queries and complaints and providing the Directors with updates
  • Recruits, trains, schedules and supervise restaurant staff
  • Maintains stock levels and order supply accordingly
  • Proactively strategize with management to ensure maximum seating, staffing needs for the restaurant
  • Conduct briefings, evaluations and motivational talks with supervisors and line staff as necessary
  • Routinely support other areas of the restaurant when needed, including hosts and waiters
  • Maintain cost control procedures
  • Conduct inventories as per schedule
  • Assist in restaurant opening when necessary
  • Liaise between kitchen and restaurant staff
  • Communicate with all appropriate departments to ensure proper and accurate service
  • Ensure the successful arrangement and execution of special functions or arrangements
  • Ensures that all times, all team members are appropriately attired in uniform, name tag and maintain good personal hygiene
  • Ensures interactions with guests are courteous, demonstrating excellent customer service the palladium smile, consistently turning guests into fans
  • Be fully aware of environmental program and maintain standards accordingly
  • Ensures that established sanitation and HACCP procedures are followed
  • Be knowledgeable of the company’s fire, hurricane and safety procedures
  • Timely prepare relevant reports as per request
  • Participates in mandatory training and other departmental and hotel meetings
  • Performs any other duties assigned from time to time

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Service/ Hospitality Management
  • Three (3) - four (4) years experience in related field (Food & Beverage/Restaurant Management)
  • Operational experience in a luxury resort
  • Supervisory training
  • Valid Food Handlers permit

The Restaurant Manager Responsibilities may include:

  • Supports and Manages the Hotel Outlets while working closely with the Food and Beverage Director and other hotel departments

  • Ensure effective hiring, training, development, promotion and continuous reinforcement
  • Lead and coach the team towards achieving exceptional guest service and employee satisfaction results
  • Full understanding of Associate engagement
  • Develop and implement creative strategies for revenue enhancement and cost containment
  • Develop and recommend the budget, marketing plans and objectives. Manage within those approved plans
  • Responsible for maintaining a high energy, positive, professional appearance
  • Plan, coordinate & manage special events and holiday functions
  • Ability to take the initiative to run the outlets as a free standing entity

Outlet Managers are an integral part of the hotel's overall Food and beverage team. Your colleagues will include the Banquet Manager, Executive Steward, Beverage Manager, and Room Service Manager. Qualifications
  • Full Time Management Position that requires full flexibility, ability to work weekends and holidays and a varied schedule

Restaurant Managers

The Preferred candidate should be able to demonstrate superior customer service, analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to lead a dynamic team.

Key Responisbilities:
  • Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant
  • Supervise staff and oversee the company's assets
  • Maintain great customer service by ensuring customer expectataions are exceeded

Cooks

The ideal candidate should be passionate, hardworking and have a love for food and great customer service.

Key Responsiblities:
  • Responsible for ensuring that high standards of sanitation, cleanliness and safety are mainteained within your work space
  • Prepare meals for our customers as per recipe and Company's standards
  • Weigh, measure, mix and prep ingredients according to recipes
  • Steam, grill, boil or fry meats, fish, vegetables, and other ingredients, and arrange and garnish dishes
  • Check food and ingredients for freshness and maintain as per standards
  • Ensure that the Company's receipes and techniques in food preparation and presentataion are preserved
  • Organize work area, prepare food and cooking, and label all food items according to Food Safety Standards
Qualifications and Competence Requirements:
  • Have at least level 3 certification in Commercial Food Preparation from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of three (3) years related experience preferably in a fast food environment
  • Strong knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation standards
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Able to use industrial kitchen equipment
