Job Title: Lifeguard

Location: Royalton Blue Waters & Hideaway at Royalton Blue Waters, Falmouth, Trelawny
Department: Recreation & Activities
Reports to: Recreation Manager / Safety & Security Manager

Job Summary:
The Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring guest safety at resort pools and beaches. This role involves monitoring swimming areas, preventing accidents, and responding to emergencies while providing excellent guest service.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Guest Safety & Supervision:

• Monitor swimming areas to ensure guest safety and enforce pool/beach rules.
• Provide immediate assistance in emergencies, including rescues and first aid.
• Maintain a visible presence to prevent accidents and unsafe behaviors.

2. Emergency Response:

• Perform CPR, first aid, and water rescues when necessary.
• Assist in evacuations or emergency situations as directed.

3. Pool & Beach Maintenance:

• Inspect lifeguard equipment and report any damage or safety concerns.
• Keep pool and beach areas clean and hazard-free.
• Ensure life-saving equipment is in place and fully functional.

4. Customer Service:

• Provide guests with information on pool/beach policies and safety procedures.
• Assist guests with general inquiries and enhance their overall experience.

Requirements:

• Certified Lifeguard (CPR, First Aid, and Water Rescue certification required).
• Strong swimming abilities and physical fitness.
• Previous experience in lifeguarding is a plus.
• Excellent vigilance and quick response skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Preferred Skills:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to stay calm and act quickly in emergency situations.
• Knowledge of multiple rescue techniques and water safety regulations.

Reports to: Stewarding Supervisor

Job Summary:
The Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchen areas, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. This role involves cleaning kitchen equipment, utensils, and floors while supporting the culinary team in maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Cleaning & Sanitation:

• Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, floors, and food preparation areas.
• Wash, dry, and store dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment properly.
• Ensure deep cleaning of kitchen equipment, including ovens, grills, and refrigerators.
• Safely dispose of garbage and recycling materials.

2. Compliance & Safety:

• Follow all health, hygiene, and safety regulations.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.
• Monitor and report any maintenance or safety issues.

3. Support & Organization:

• Assist chefs and kitchen staff by ensuring work areas are clean and stocked.
• Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing areas and storage rooms.
• Restock cleaning supplies as needed.

Requirements:

• Prior experience in kitchen sanitation or stewarding is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of hygiene and food safety regulations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Physically fit to handle long hours of standing, lifting, and cleaning.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Skills:

• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills.
