Job Summary:
The Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchen areas, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. This role involves cleaning kitchen equipment, utensils, and floors while supporting the culinary team in maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment.

1. Cleaning & Sanitation:

The Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchen areas, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. This role involves cleaning kitchen equipment, utensils, and floors while supporting the culinary team in maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Cleaning & Sanitation:
- Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, floors, and food preparation areas.
- Wash, dry, and store dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment properly.
- Ensure deep cleaning of kitchen equipment, including ovens, grills, and refrigerators.
- Safely dispose of garbage and recycling materials.
2. Compliance & Safety:
- Follow all health, hygiene, and safety regulations.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.
- Monitor and report any maintenance or safety issues.
- Assist chefs and kitchen staff by ensuring work areas are clean and stocked.
- Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing areas and storage rooms.
- Restock cleaning supplies as needed.
- Prior experience in kitchen sanitation or stewarding is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of hygiene and food safety regulations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Physically fit to handle long hours of standing, lifting, and cleaning.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
