The primary goal of the Assistant Front Office Manager is to assist in ensuring the smooth operation of the department in regards to supervising the department personnel, staffing, training, report preparation, reservation management and resolving customer complaints while providing excellent customer service.

Summary of Duties & Responsibilities:

Lifeguard (St. Ann, Jamaica) - Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts


The lifeguard is responsible for all the swimmers on the beach or in the swimming pool:

  • Observes and patrols pool and enforces safety regulations.
  • Provide excellent service consistent with the hotels standards operating procedures and brand attributes.
  • Should be excellent swimmers and should also be able to swim underwater
  • Greet all guests upon arrival, distribute towels, aid with seating, and delivering consistent guest service, exceeding guest expectations, and providing all other supporting services.
  • Knowledgeable of pool facility such as length and depth of all pools, how many laps it takes to make complete a mile in meters and feet etc.
  • Must be able to teach children safety practices and create awareness
  • Knowledgeable of hotel facilities and services to answer guest inquiries.
  • Check and maintain the Colour, Chemistry, and Clarity of the pool water.
  • Complete the opening, mid-day, and closing duties checklist.
  • Clean and maintain the pool deck and beach area throughout your shift.
  • Identify and report defects, notify supervisors and concerned departments immediately of hazards, injuries, equipment or processes that negatively affect the operations.
  • Ensure the beach area and pool deck is swept and watered down and that all furniture is in the correct place, when setting up in the morning.
  • Lifeguards should be on extra alert when there are children swimming around as they are more prone to accidents
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of resuscitation, first aide, and CPR/PR techniques.
  • Knowledge of safety hazards and necessary safety precautions sufficient to be able to establish a safe work environment for self and others.

Skills & Experience
  • At least 1-year experience
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Skill in the application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical skills evaluation as stipulated by the department.

Under the direct supervision of the Security Manager, the In-house Security Officer must oversee all areas of the hotel property, inside and out, from the parking lot to banquet halls and private guest rooms.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
  • Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
  • Circulate among visitors, patrons, or employees to preserve order and protect property.
  • Answer alarms and investigate disturbances.
  • Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
  • Patrol premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.
  • Keep track of all the cameras installed in the hotel premises and report if there is any suspicion.
  • Monitor the alarms and make arrangement for evacuation in case of emergency.
  • Maintain security station with a proper information database and stay connected with the security room so that quick actions can be taken at times of emergency.
  • The security officer should keep a constant check on the other security personals and see whether they are performing their responsibilities up to the standards and take corrective actions if anyone is found at fault.

We are seeking to identify Bartenders who are responsible for excellence in guest satisfaction by serving food and beverages to the guests according to established standards and keeps bar clean at all times.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
  • Preparing alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages for bar and patrons.
  • Possesses full knowledge of food and beverage products served and utilizes suggestive selling techniques.
  • Takes orders and delivers food and beverage in a timely manner.
  • Ensures guests receive immediate, friendly, and personalized service to build their intent to return.
  • Guides guests through menus, answers questions thoroughly, and provides specific item suggestions and information about the establishment and the island.
  • Maintains positive guest satisfaction by exceeding service expectations.
  • Handles guest complaints or directs them to a manager.
  • Operates point-of-sale system with high level of efficiency and handles large amounts of currency.
  • Practices proper cash handling procedures by addressing the point-of-sale system after every transaction, properly organizing money, counting change back to guests, and following appropriate checkout procedures.
  • Sets up and breaks down equipment and supplies.
  • Maintains work areas by organizing and cleaning service stations and pre-bussing tables and clearing counters as needed of all used glassware/plateware/silverware/etc.
  • Maintains high-level of knowledge regarding the company’s products and happenings, and communicates properly to guests; establishes rapport with all guests through name recognition.
  • Adheres to responsible alcohol service established by company policy.
  • Understands and utilizes all safety and sanitation practices as defined in the safety program and reports any accidents to management.
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures as established in the Staff Member Handbook.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
  • At least two (2) years experience working as a bartender in a high volume restaurant
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with other departments and outside contacts.
  • Ability to complete a heavy workload and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Good judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Twenty-three (23) years of age or older.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma. Training in Hospitality/Tourism will be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics with the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Must speak fluent English. A second language will be considered an asset.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high energy, and physically demanding environment.
  • Must be able to lift items weighing up to 50lbs.
  • Must be able to spend 100% of working time standing, walking, and reaching.
Work Environment
  • Exposed to weather conditions and prevalent temperature changes.
  • Subject to moderate to high ambient noise levels.
  • Frequently required to function in narrow aisles or passageways.
  • Frequently required to wash hands and/or wear gloves.
Person must be able to work long hours, holidays and weekends, and be willing to work as part of a team.
