Head Butler (Negril, Westmoreland, Jamaica) - Azul Beach Resort

Coordinates smooth daily operations of the Butler department, ensuring that all Butlers have the tool necessary to carry out their daily tasks. Managing budget and coordinating supplies.

JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Successfully completes training/certification of all Butlers.
  • Ensure daily line-up is kept and maintained within the Department.
  • Receiving (and checking in) guests.
  • Responsible for guiding, training and motivating staff.
  • Guarantee levels of satisfaction through the results of qualified surveys by the guests with the objective of knowing the needs, detecting the areas of opportunity and improving the quality of the service.
  • Respond to guest requests, ensure Express Service concerns/issues are resolved.
  • Periodically inspect Butler rooms to ensure standard are met.
  • Responsible for the up-selling revenue areas
  • Timely submit schedule, payroll, meeting minutes, reports & requisition
  • Updates and manages the hotel systems, by registering and maintaining the Guest's information during their stay, generating a database that will serve for future stays.
  • Creates follow-up reports to VIP guests & Members, to obtain relevant information, as well as a history of their preferences prior to arrival.
  • Coordinates the control and handling of guests´ luggage during check-out, check-in, and room changes. Safekeeping in an efficient careful manner.
  • Provides a tracking service for lost luggage.
  • Recommend disciplinary actions where necessary.
  • Familiarize yourself with the hotel’s emergency manuals and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • At least 2 years’ experience as a Butler
  • Thorough knowledge of hotel services and amenities.
  • Ability to train, coach, counsel, develop employees according to SOP
  • Ability to be a leader and build a team.
  • Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English with guests / visitors, management and co-workers to their understanding.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
  • Ability to provide legible communication and directions.
  • Ability to work long hours even without being told
  • Ability to write reports and submit in a timely manner
  • Ability to represent Department at all levels

Executive Housekeeper (Negril, Jamaica) - Azul Beach Resort

To plan, direct, and control the activities related to the cleaning of rooms, public areas, and laundry, adhering to the authorized budget, and in accordance with the standards, policies, and procedures approved by Karisma Hotels & Resorts, aiming at exceeding the expectations of guests.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • To organize and distribute the work of the department according to the occupation forecasts, as well as to schedule work shifts, vacation times, and special permits for the collaborators working in the department.
  • To be familiar and to make sure that all personnel in her area is familiar with the ROH (Room of the House) and the rooms inventory, as well as with their main characteristics.
  • To control the consumption of stationery, supplies, and operating equipment, following the specifications and recommended safety measures.
  • To control the consumption of amenities in the rooms.
  • To carry out a monthly inventory, or at other times as required, of linen and operating equipment.
  • To make the daily assignment of activities to each housekeeper and to supervise that the room cleaning routines or tasks are carried out.
  • To follow up on the general room cleaning schedules.
  • To supervise the cleaning, appearance standards, and supplies, based on the appropriate check lists, as well as the preservation conditions and the operation of the furniture and equipment in the rooms.
  • To report any lack of compliance in the rooms to the corresponding department.
  • To control and safe keep master keys on a daily basis.
  • To educate and train the personnel in the department.
  • To supervise and follow up on the Supervisors’ and Housekeepers’ reports.
  • To supervise that the correct lost and found control and procedures are being carried out.
  • To follow up on comments made by guests on the GSS report and to fulfill the quality program.
  • To review and authorize the purchase requisitions and the warehouse requisitions for the department.
  • To follow up on the maintenance activities requested for the rooms and public areas.
  • To coordinate the preventive maintenance schedule with the Maintenance department, as well as to supervise it.
  • To follow up on the discrepancies report, as well as its immediate solution, when applicable.
  • To supervise the correct and timely execution of the night courtesy service.
  • To ensure the good use and operation of the work equipment in the Public Areas, Housekeeping, and Laundry departments.
  • To supervise the good conditions of the decoration and the appearance of the public areas and rooms.
  • To adhere to the safety and hygiene guidelines, the energy saving, environmental, and the internal civil protection programs, as well as any other applicable programs.
  • To be familiar with the handling and use of chemical products used in the operation in her areas, as well as to suggest the use of new products in a search for continuous improvement.
  • To produce the reports required from the housekeeping, public areas, and laundry departments.
  • To produce the history card for each room.


JOB PROFILE:
  • B. A. in Business Management or a related degree.
  • At least 4 years in a similar position in a 5 stars hotel.

Chef de Cuisine (Negril, Jamaica, W.I.) - Azul Beach Resort

OBJECTIVE: To coordinate with the Sous Chef the activities related to the preparation of food, guaranteeing the highest quality, presentation, hygiene and safety, taking advantage of the available materials and resources.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

General
  • To wear a clean, complete uniform, according to the standards.
  • To participate in the shift’s briefing.
Operating Responsibilities:
  • To supervise the attendance and punctuality of the staff, as well as their cleanliness, and personal hygiene.
  • To ensure the adherence to all hygiene and safety policies are followed in the kitchen.
  • Preparation of menus according to specifications, as well as to supervise the preparation of the various recipes.
  • To direct and monitor the preparation and seasoning of dishes prepared in the various kitchens according to the recipe book and the food presentation standards.
  • To personally prepare the cold or hot dishes when the situation demands it.
  • To monitor that all procedures established by the Hygienic Food and Beverages Handling program, as well as to supervise that all hot and cold dishes are served at the right temperature, as per the established standards.
  • To supervise the carrying out of the preventive and corrective maintenance plans on the kitchen facilities and equipment.
  • To train and develop staff, establishing a series of actions and measures that promote the professional development and the motivation of staff members, keeping an appropriate and positive work environment.
  • To supervise the appropriate administration of stocks and raw materials assigned to the area making orders as necessary, based on the maximum and minimum stock required by the appropriate rotation of raw materials according to the FIFO System.
  • To supervise the reception of food orders and to report on any detected irregularities to the Sous Chef, taking immediate corrective and preventive actions, as appropriate.
  • To maintain direct contact with the cooks to clarify any doubts
  • To supervise the appropriate set up and conditions of the Buffet.
  • To prepare the reports corresponding to the kitchen area.
