Social Media & Public Relations Officer (St. Ann, Jamaica) - Dolphin Cove Limited

 Description of Duties:


The Social Media and Public Relations Officer job will be to develop creative and engaging various social media strategies while managing the day-to-day handling of all social media channels such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, TikTok and Youtube.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Implement advertise and marketing strategies and campaign while drafting, creating and sending press release to the relevant areas
  • Management of social media networks
  • Participate in developing, launching and managing new competitions and campaigns that promote the organization and brand
  • Search, coordinate and form connection with influencers and celebrities and production houses
  • Oversee, plan and deliver content across different social media platforms
  • Create engaging multimedia content (and/or outsource this effectively) across multiple platforms
  • Manage and facilitate social media communities by responding to social media posts, working in the newsroom and the Dolphin Discovery Social Media
  • Monitor, track, analyze and report on performance on social media platforms using tools such as Google Analytics and Facebook Insights
  • Research and evaluate the latest trends and techniques in order to find new and better ways of measuring social media activity
  • Analyze competitor activity
  • Attend events and interviews in relation to the company
  • Coordinate press conferences
  • Generate reports for policies and procedures for the commercial members
Required Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or related field
  • Three (3) years experience in the same or similar capacity
  • A good understanding of social media marketing techniques
  • Must own a reliable motor car
  • Excellent writing, computer, and communication skills
  • Must be able to meet deadlines in a fast paced, quickly changing environment
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills
  • Being a team player but at the same time someone who can work under minimum levels of supervision
  • High degree of accuracy

Social Media Officer (Kingston, Jamaica) - Ministry of Justice

 The Ministry of Justice (MOJ) is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified person to be engaged as a Social Media Officer (Contract), in the Public Relations and Communications Unit, Corporate Services Division, salary is $1,200,500.00 per annum along with any allowance(s) attached to the post.

Job Purpose

Under the direction of the Director, Public Relation and Communication, the Social Media Offer will develop and implement a social media strategy and action plan that support the MOJ's external and internal communication strategies.

Minimum Required Qualification and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication/Communication Studies or similar field from a recognized tertiary level institution
  • At least two (2) years demonstrable experience as a Social Media Officer or a similar role

Social Media Coordinator (Kingston, Jamaica) - Office of Utilities Regulation

The Office of Utilities Regulation (OUR) invites applications from suitably qualified individuals to fill the following contract position of:

Social Media Coordinator 
Core Functions:
  • Conceptualise and develop an annual social media strategy and programme for the OUR, which should include S. M. A. R. T. communication deliverables 
  • Coordinate,  implement and maintain the organization's presence across various new media platforms including but limited to: Facebook,  Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn
  • Use these social media tools to support the delivery of the O. U. R's various public education  campaigns and consumer awareness activities designed to enhance stakeholder confidence in the OUR 
  • develop strategies to identify and create consumer conversations around matters related to the OUR's mandate; engage followers and channel contacts to the Consumer Affairs Unit; and
  • Use Adobe InDesign or other graphics software to design and create innovative and captivating content for OUR's social media platforms that will connect with consumers and other stakeholders, as well as fulfil the graphics needs of the Department and other internal stakeholders 

Required Qualifications, Experience and Critical Competencies:
  • An undergraduate degree in Marketing, Mass Communication, Integrated Marketing Communication, or other related disciplines from a recognized tertiary institution 
  • Proven knowledge, experience and certification in Graphic Design and the use of software including Adobe InDesign,  Adobe Audition, CorelDRAW Office Suite, etc
  • A minimum of at least five (5) years experience performing similar functions preferably at a supervisory level; and
  • Experience working in a utility or regulatory environment would be a distinct advantage

The Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) acting on behalf of the Government of Jamaica has received financing in the amount equivalent to US $68,000,000.00 from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), and it intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for goods, works, related services and consultng services to be procured under the project implementation of the National Identification System (NIDS) for economic growth.

The OPM intends to engage the services of qualified consultants to carry out duties in various capacities pursuant to IDB's procurement policies GN-2350-9 for hiring of individual consultants. The minimum qualification and experience for the respective consultancies are noted below:
Customer Service Officer
(NIDS/2018/COMPEU6/3CV-017)
  • Five (5) CSEC subjects including English Language
  • Two (2) years work experience in customer service relations
  • Three (3) years general work experience in private or public sector
  • Excellent presentation, writing and verbal skills
Social Media Services

  • Bachelors' degree in Social Sciences or equivalent discipline from and accredited tertiary level institution

  • Excellent knowledge of accounting standards and procedures
  • Excellent knowledge of budgeting, Accounts Payable and bank Reconciliation
  • Experience in the Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Accounting software
Project Accountant

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance/Accounting/Economics/Management Studies with Accounting emphasis or completion of ACCA Level 2
  • Two (2) years experience in Accounting or Financial Manmagement in the public or private sector
  • One (1) year experience working with Accounting Software/Packages including Sage 50 or Peachtree
  • Experience working with IDB funded projects or other Funding Agencies
