Social Media Manager (Montego Bay, Jamaica) - Secrets/Breathless Resorts & Spa

This role is responsible for managing the resort's presence across various social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter (X).


JOB OVERVIEW:

This dynamic and creative professional is responsible for managing the resort's presence across various social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. The social media manager role is pivotal in capturing and sharing the essence of our resort through regular phone photography, fostering online relationships with key audiences and influencers, and ensuring our digital footprint reflects our brand's voice and vision. Provide online technical customer assistance and support, responding to emails, in an efficient manner with high quality. The individual needs to be detail oriented, process driven and can thrive within a team environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Essential:
  • College graduate.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Ability to clearly communicate with guests/visitors and hotel personnel in English.
  • Ability to communicate proficiently via verbal and written correspondence.
  • Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.
  • Knowledge in the use of all office equipment, computer and manual systems.
  • Proven experience in social media management, digital marketing, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills, with the ability to craft engaging content.
  • Creative and strategic thinker with the ability to multitask and manage time efficiently.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and strong problem-solving skills.
Desirable:
  • Some college preferred.
  • Familiarity with preparing statistical reports.
  • Demonstrate ability to form positive relationships with guests.
  • Previous training in guest relations.
  • Previous experience in luxury hotel preferred.
  • Certified notary public.

SKILLS:

Essentials:
  • Ability to type 60 wpm accurately.
  • Ability to ascertain callers’ needs and comply with such to ensure caller’s satisfaction.
  • Ability to think clearly and remain calm in volatile situations.
  • Detail oriented, well organized with excellent follow-up skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of guest’s information and hotel data.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time with limited movement.
  • Ability to interact cohesively with other departments.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Provide online technical customer assistance and support to customers of Secrets Resorts & Spa by responding to emails in an efficient manner with high quality.
  • Respond to high volume ‘routine’ emails utilizing established tools and processes to attain maximum level of productivity.
  • Identify guest reservations needs by asking open-ended questions to obtain all necessary information.
  • Use sales techniques when assisting guests in making reservations, including personalizing calls, obtaining complete guest needs, suggesting alternate dates or directing guests to sister properties on sold out days
  • Answer guest questions about property facilities/services (e.g. hours of operation, room availability, restricted dates rates and room types, packages, promotions, entertainment, restaurants, special events).
  • Verify all information with customers to ensure accuracy.
  • Process all reservation requests, changes and cancellations received by email.
  • Input and access data in reservations system by entering correct information in proper fields including any member rewards number and asking for travel agency identification numbers (i.e., flags, comments, guest messages.
  • Respond to all social media queries within 24 hours.
  • Actively cultivate and grow online relationships by engaging with followers, responding to queries in a timely manner, and developing strategies to increase follower base.
  • Assist with website maintenance, update marketing collateral as needed, and support the development of media itineraries to ensure a cohesive and attractive online presence.
  • Stay updated on current trends in social media, photography, and digital marketing to keep our content fresh and engaging.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures; ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards.
  • Anticipate and address guests’ service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, thank guest with genuine appreciation.
  • Speak with others using clear professional language.
  • Prepare and review written documents accurately and completely, answer telephones using appropriate etiquette.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support team to reach common goals, listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
  • Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.
  • Read and visually verify information in a variety of formats.
  • Enter and locate work-related information using computers and/or point of sale systems.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing less than or equal to ten (10) pounds without assistance.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements, hotel reservations and car rentals for the General Manager’s business travel needs and expense reports.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.

Social Media & Public Relations Officer (St. Ann, Jamaica) - Dolphin Cove Limited

 Description of Duties:


The Social Media and Public Relations Officer job will be to develop creative and engaging various social media strategies while managing the day-to-day handling of all social media channels such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, TikTok and Youtube.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Implement advertise and marketing strategies and campaign while drafting, creating and sending press release to the relevant areas
  • Management of social media networks
  • Participate in developing, launching and managing new competitions and campaigns that promote the organization and brand
  • Search, coordinate and form connection with influencers and celebrities and production houses
  • Oversee, plan and deliver content across different social media platforms
  • Create engaging multimedia content (and/or outsource this effectively) across multiple platforms
  • Manage and facilitate social media communities by responding to social media posts, working in the newsroom and the Dolphin Discovery Social Media
  • Monitor, track, analyze and report on performance on social media platforms using tools such as Google Analytics and Facebook Insights
  • Research and evaluate the latest trends and techniques in order to find new and better ways of measuring social media activity
  • Analyze competitor activity
  • Attend events and interviews in relation to the company
  • Coordinate press conferences
  • Generate reports for policies and procedures for the commercial members
Required Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or related field
  • Three (3) years experience in the same or similar capacity
  • A good understanding of social media marketing techniques
  • Must own a reliable motor car
  • Excellent writing, computer, and communication skills
  • Must be able to meet deadlines in a fast paced, quickly changing environment
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills
  • Being a team player but at the same time someone who can work under minimum levels of supervision
  • High degree of accuracy

 The Ministry of Justice (MOJ) is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified person to be engaged as a Social Media Officer (Contract), in the Public Relations and Communications Unit, Corporate Services Division, salary is $1,200,500.00 per annum along with any allowance(s) attached to the post.

Job Purpose

Under the direction of the Director, Public Relation and Communication, the Social Media Offer will develop and implement a social media strategy and action plan that support the MOJ's external and internal communication strategies.

Digital Marketing Manager

 As a part of the Strategic Communications & Campaigns team, the successful applicant will work across Government and with Department of Communications colleagues creating & publishing engaging content on web & social channels.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to (see detailed Job Description):

  • Procure and manage the digital reporting and publishing platform
  • Create, commission, and publish engaging content, features and copy: supporting current strategic campaigns identified/lead by the Head of Strategy & Campaigns; and supporting current news issues & opportunities as requested
  • Measure and report reach and engagement on digital and social platforms
  • Manage digital media policy guidance for civil servants under the direction of the Director of Communications

Knowledge:

  • Undergraduate degree (Digital or Marketing Communications preferred)

  • Proficiency in web design, implementation processes and content management systems

Experience:

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in digital communications
  • Experience in SEO, PPC & SEM Campaigns, email marketing, Google Analytics & Google Tag Manager, social media publishing tools
  • Experience creating and implementing digital marketing strategies
  • The post holder will be a highly experienced digital and social marketer and will be confident giving advice on effective operations of social and digital channels

He/she will have proven success managing online public engagement including:

  • Developing and implementing digital marketing strategies
  • Managing digital campaigns and transformation projects
  • Developing and securing agreement to online content tactics and approaches
  • Creating compelling content for web and social media including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn
  • Identifying and working with online influencers, partners, sponsors
  • Operating social media and content management platforms for scheduling, alerts and reporting
  • Experience procuring and managing outsourced suppliers
  • Experience training and managing teams
  • Working with non-profits and public sector preferable

Skills:

  • Excellent team-working and people skills
  • The ability to work at pace to a high degree of accuracy
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, particularly in writing for web
  • Excellent insight and analytical skills, particularly tracking digital KPIs against business goals
