Electrical Technician (Kingston, Jamaica) - Massy Distribution (Jamaica) Limited

Massy Distribution (Jamaica) Limited is one of the leading distribution companies in Jamaica, having been in existence for over 90 years, representing popular international brands of pharmaceutical and fast moving consumer goods (FMCGs). The company is also a subsidiary of the Caribbean conglomerate energy, manufacturing, real estate, finance, automotive and industrial equipment.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• Assemblies, installs, inspects, tests, maintains and repairs where required; electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures
• Perform preventative maintenance on standby generators, change-over switch assemblies, and forklift and standby generator batteries
• Plans layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes
• Prepares sketches or follows blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes
• Places conduit (pipes or tubing) inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes
• Provides assistance during emergencies by operating generators

Qualifications and Experience:

• A certified Electrician's license
• Three (3) years experience in electrical installation and repairs
• Strong troubleshooting abilities
