Personnel Officer (Kingston, Jamaica) - Continental (National) Baking Co. Ltd.

Required (minimum) Qualifications and Experience:
  • BSc in Human Resources or related discipline
  • Certification in Industrial Relations or related discipline
  • At least five (5) years experience in Human Resources in a FMCG entity
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Process all new recruits and terminations for assigned plants
  • Prepare employment contracts for assigned plants
  • Offer expert guidance to manage relations and communication between factory employees and upper management
  • Offer guidance to the supervisory and management teams regarding the Company's rules as well as the Labour Laws of Jamaica
  • Facilitate communication between employees and Upper management
  • Assist with coordinating disciplinary hearings
  • Attend disciplinary hearing. Take, prepare, disseminate and file detailed meeting notes
  • Assist to prepare employee letters as needed/requested and in keeping with established turn-around-times


Required Skills and Knowledge:
  • Strong working knowledge of Labour Relations Code and Labour Laws of Jamaica
  • Strong proficiency in the use of computers and computer applications especially Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • The ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Under graduate degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or equivalent from an accredited training institution

  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite


Knowledge and Key Competencies

  • Sound knowledge of the labour laws, industrial relations and human resource principles and techniques

Human Resource Officer (Mandeville, Jamaica) - National People's Cooperative Bank of Jamaica

National People's Cooperative Bank of Jamaica Limited with its head office in Mandeville, Manchester is seeking applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the position of Human Resource Officer. The successful candidate will be required to exercise direct accountability and responsibility for the achievement of the duties assigned.

Core Functions:
Under the direction of the Human Resource Manager, the successful candidate will be required to:
  • Support the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems
  • Provide guidance and interpretation on the policies and procedures
  • Prepare and update job descriptions
  • Assist with the development, coordination, delivery and evaluation of training and development programmes
  • Assist with the implementation of Occupational Safety anmd Health Programme

Required Qualification, Experience and Key Competencies
The successful candidate should have:
  • An undergraduate degree in Human Resource Management or equivalent qualification from an accredited tertiary institution
  • A minimum of three (3) years continuous experience in a similar capacity in a medium or large organization
  • Experience in a financial institution will be an asset
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Human Resource Management Systems
  • Knowledge of Jamaica Labour Laws and relevant legislation
  • Excellent knowledge of human resource planning and administration
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem solving and decision maing skills
  • Ability to compile and interpret statistical data and communicate it in a professional and understandable manner
  • Excellent communciation skills
  • Proficient interpersonal skilsl, including conflict resolution, facilitation, negotiation and team building
  • High level of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Good negotiation and counselling skills
  • Good leadership skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • A reliable motor vehicle and the ability to travel island-wide

Human Resource Clerk (Kingston, Jamaica)

Operator of a well-known entertainment establishment in Kingston, is seeking to fill the following positions of Human Resource.
The Human Resource Clerk will facilitate new hires for the company. This will include compiling and maintaining employee records for company use, assisting with daily administrative operations concerning human resource and assisting each employee with human resource related issues.

The Human Resource Clerk will also assist in the recruiting process which involves sorting and filing of applications and resumes; contacting prospective applicants for interviews; issuing entrance tests and application forms; conducting reference checks; collecting required documents, and all other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

The ideal candidate will:
