FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment.
- Performing routine preventative maintenance.
- Handling basic repairs and maintenance issues.
- Overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary.
- Diagnosing mechanical issues and correcting those in their scope and advising the general manager of major contractual requirements.
- Repairing machines, equipment, or structures as necessary.
- Monitor repair parts inventory to ensure adequate levels at all times.
- Attention to building structural soundness, aesthetics, and upkeep.
- Achieve company objectives in the appearance of facility cleanliness.
- Procure, manage, and log the department’s inventory, which includes parts and supplies.
- Performs any other duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance or Sr. Director, Facilities and Construction.
- Be able to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Excellent guest service skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some nights and/or weekends and be part of a 24 hour on call team.
- Strong work ethic.

- Possess strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.

- Ability to read and understand repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary
- Computer Skills to include: Excel & Word.
- Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts
- Ability to learn new functions, procedures.
- Be able to manage location R & M requests.
- Must have exceptional grooming habits.
- Proficient in evaluating equipment’s status.
- Make good minor wall and floor defects.
- Evaluate electrical issues and effect repairs.
- Physical stamina and dexterity.
- Handling of power tools, drain and cleaning chemicals.
- High school and vocational training certificate
- Diploma in HVAC functions or equivalent
- At least three (3) years experience in skilled maintenance profession
Responsibilities:
- Installation: Install, assemble, and test new refrigeration and HVAC systems, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, and related components.
- Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance on refrigeration and HVAC systems, including cleaning coils, checking refrigerant levels, and inspecting electrical connections.
- Repair: Diagnose and repair malfunctions in refrigeration and HVAC systems, including electrical, mechanical, and refrigerant-related issues.
- Troubleshooting: Use diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and resolve complex refrigeration and HVAC system problems.
- Refrigerant Handling: Handle and recover refrigerants in accordance with environmental regulations and safety standards.
- Electrical Systems: Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring and components related to refrigeration and HVAC systems.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and installations.
- Safety: Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with clients and team members.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to junior technicians.
- Inventory Management: Manage and maintain an inventory of refrigeration and HVAC parts and supplies.
- Emergency Response: Respond to emergency calls for refrigeration and HVAC system repairs.
- System Optimization: recommend upgrades and optimize existing systems for better efficiency.
- Reading and interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Associate's degree or technical diploma in HVAC or refrigeration technology. or Proven experience as a Refrigeration Technician, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems
- Experience with energy-efficient refrigeration and HVAC systems.
- Strong knowledge of refrigeration principles, electrical systems, and HVAC systems.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
- Experience with various commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems (e.g., walk-in coolers, freezers, ice machines, rooftop units).
- Bilingual is Preferred
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- May work in various environments, including indoor and outdoor settings.
- May be required to work on-call or overtime, including weekends and holidays.
- May be exposed to extreme temperatures and noise.
