Maintenance Technician (Montego Bay, Jamaica) - The Tryall Club

 

Maintenance Technician is responsible for conducting maintenance check and repairs for air-con and other refrigeration system. Responsible for executing electrical repairs, modification, installation and maintenance programs throughout the property.

JOB SUMMARY

Maintenance Technician is responsible in conducting maintenance check and repairs for air-con and other refrigeration system. Responsible for executing electrical repairs, modification, installation and maintenance programs throughout the property.

REQUIREMENT/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a graduate with a level 1 or 2 vocational course in Air Conditioning or Electrical.
  • Must have at least 1-2 years experience in HVAC, Kitchen and Laundry equiptment.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Well-developed analytical and diagnostic skills.
  • Effective time management skills
  • Knowledge of the location of various circuit breakers, panels and enclosures, which control electrical equipment.
  • Ability to use tools and equipment associated with electrical systems.
  • Sound knowledge of safety and emergency procedures used in corrective and preventative maintenance activities.
  • Ability to read and operate several test instruments associated with various branches of the electrical discipline.
  • Ability to recognize and identify main components and circuits of air condition, uninterrupted power supply (UPS) and generator plants.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Routine Inspections: Perform regular inspections of HVAC systems to ensure they are functioning correctly.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Conduct preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, including cleaning coils, replacing filters, and checking refrigerant levels.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair HVAC system issues such as refrigerant leaks, faulty wiring, or malfunctioning components.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Carry out preventive maintenance tasks, such as cleaning lint traps, checking belts, and ensuring proper lubrication.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to emergency maintenance requests in a timely and efficient manner to minimize disruption.

  • Three (3) - Five (5) years landscaping or Gardener experience.
  • Landscapers need an eye for detail to notice when mulch needs to be replaced or replenished. To employ turf management techniques to make sure mulch is spread evenly.
  • Ability to mow lawn either by hand or using a riding lawnmower
  • To use knowledge of weed maintenance techniques to develop and stick to a regular maintenance schedule.
  • To know the ideal planting conditions for each plant, as well as how to care for them. Knowledge of pesticide and fertilizer care and use.
  • Knowledge of pool maintenance a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • The willingness and the ability to sleep over (nights) at the villa.
  • Experience as a landscaper that has worked in a four (4) star or five (5) diamond properties.

Essential:

  1. Maintain complete knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, room capacity, hours of operation, proper table set-up and dress code of the restaurant.
  2. Maintain complete knowledge of all liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections, correct glassware and garnishes in the restaurant.
  3. Maintain knowledge of the particular characteristics and description of every wine/champagne by the glass and major wines on the wine list.
  4. Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, prices, preparation method/time, major ingredients and quality standards, taste, appearance, texture, serving temperature, garnish and method of presentation.
  5. Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons and drunk driving.
  6. Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.
  7. Maintain complete knowledge and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures.
  8. Complete opening side duties as assigned:
  • Check quality and amount of all restaurant stock and supplies using checklist.
  • Fold napkins.
  • Requisition all necessary supplies and transport from storeroom to restaurant.
  • Set tables according to service standards.
  • Set up all condiments (butter, jellies, syrups, juices) and beverages (non-alcoholic) according to service standards.
  • Ensure a sufficient supply of all silverware, glassware and chinaware for service.
  • Prepare all cold food items (cereals, fruits and salads).
  • Check cleanliness and condition of assigned station and service areas; rectify any deficiencies.
  • Set up side station with supplies and equipment.
    • Take guests' food and beverage orders, utilizing suggestive selling techniques.
    • Record order of guest following departmental service procedures.
    • Input order into system and ensure transmission of food orders is verified by kitchen.
    • Legibly document orders when system is down and distribute food orders to kitchen.
    • Retrieve all alcoholic beverage items from bar and serve to guest in accordance with the departmental standards.
    • Open and serve wine/champagne bottles in accordance with departmental standards.
    • Make all varieties of coffee in accordance with the departmental standards.
    • Serve all food courses and non-alcoholic beverage items to the guest in accordance with departmental standards.
    • Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
    • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
    • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned station and service areas.
    • Guide the activities of the assigned Busperson to ensure optimum service to guests.
    • Clear each course following procedures laid down in departmental manual.
    • Remove soiled wares from tables as assigned and transport to dishwashing area.
    • Present guest checks and process payments through the Cashier.
    • Adhere to payment, cash handling and credit policies/procedures.
    • Clean and reset tables immediately after guest departs.
    • Collect and report tips at the end of the assigned shift.
    • Complete closing side duties:
      • Properly store all reusable goods.
      • Breakdown all goods as specified in departmental standards.
      • Clean all equipment as assigned in the side duties.
      • Restock items for next service
      • Remove all dirty linen.
      • Marry and stock all condiments.
      • Reset tables for next meal period.
      • Complete all closing reports as assigned and leave duty after reporting to supervisor.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

We are looking for an experienced and reliable gardener! We take pride in having one of best maintained landscapes in Negril, and we need help keeping that status alive. Applicants must have general knowledge on planting, maintenance, tree pruning etc, along with an ability to work hard in a team setting.
