Accountant (Kingston, Jamaica) - The Pharmacy Council of Jamaica

JOB PURPOSE
To be responsible for supervising and managing office operations and procedures in order to ensure financial and procedural compliance.

KEY OUTPUTS:
  • Annual operational budget for the Council
  • Financial Statements and Back Reconciliations
  • Custodian of the Petty Cash
  • Management of members fees and registration payments
  • Calculation and Payment of all salaries and deductions
  • Procurement and management of all office equipment and stationery
  • Cheque authorization
  • Prepares various financial reports monthly, quarterly and annually 
  • Prepares monthly bank reconciliation for all Council accounts
  • Maintains a main cash book and conduct regular check on temporary books assigned to officers
  • Authorizes and records petty cash payments with authorization
  • Maintains the General Ledger on behalf of the Council


Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Financial Management/Accounts
or
  • Associate degree in Accounts with Government Accounting level 3
  • ACCA level 2
  • At least three (3) years experience

Inventory Control Officer (Kingston, Jamaica) - Active Home Centre

Active Home Centre is seeking applications from suitable, qualified persons to fill the position of INVENTORY CONTROL OFFICER.
Under the supervision of the Chief Accountant, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that items are available when they are needed to satisfy the organization's business needs, by maintaining an optimal inventory of goods and th e accurate and timely updating of records to reflect efficient stock levels.

He/she will also be required to:
  • Implement systems and processes that will ensure inventory accuracy is maintained to support the business
  • Investigate and report all variances and discrepancies within the warehouse
  • Plan, organize and lead annual and cycle counts as required
  • Manage the inventory transfers processes between locations
  • Analyse inventory movement to identify slow moving and obsolete stock
  • Ensure all incoming products are received and managed according to company procedures


Qualifications/requirements:
  • AAT/CAT Level II or equivalent
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in stock controls and inventory practices and processes in a retail industry
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for a customer oriented working environment
  • Possess the ability to work productively, efficiently and effectively in a fast paced environment, whilst ensuring quality output
  • Skills in Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel and Outlook).
