Records Clerk (Kingston, Jamaica) - Jamaica Intellectual Property Office

Job Purpose

Under the supervision of the Director, Human Resource Management and Administration, the incumbent carries out Records Management functions for the JIPO.

Key Responsibilities

Technical/Professional:

  •  Maintains proper storage and retrieval of files;
  • Responds  promptly  to  the  retrieval  and  distribution  requests  for  applications  for registration;
  • Sorts and records outgoing and incoming mails and determines cost of postage and delivery method;
  • Creates new applications for registration, as the need arises;
  •  Inspect files to ensure that they are up-to-date;
  • Records requests for Bring-Ups (BUs) in the appropriate Online Register, charges files out and sends to relevant Officer;
  • Assists with the annual organization wide Inventory of Records
  • Updates and maintains the Electronic File Tracking System;
  • Assists with the processing and transfer of records for inactive storage or destruction;
  • Makes photocopies of documents as requested.

  • Certificate in Records Management would be an asset;
  • One (1) year’s experience in a related field.
Special Condition Associated with the Job
  • Working environment involves possible exposure to dust.

Cashier
 Job summary
Receives funds from customers in payment for services, records amounts received and performs other clerical and administrative duties.

Minimum requirements 

  • Diploma in accounting from a recognized institution;  or 
  • Five (5) CSEC subjects including English language, Mathematics and Accounts or level 2 AAT 
  • Minimum of two years working experience 
Pharmacy Technician
Job summary
Under the direct supervision of the pharmacist, the pharmacy technician prepares, sorts and packages prescription drugs accordingly.  Minimum Requirements

  • Pharmacy Technician certificate from a recognized Institution  
  • 5 CSEC subjects, including Mathematics and English Language  
  • Minimum of two (2) years working experience 
  • Customer service skills will be an asset.

STOREKEEPER (NEGRIL, JAMAICA) - THE CAVES

The Caves, located in Negril, Westmoreland, part of the Island Outpost Group, is seeking suitably qualified individuals to fill the following position:

Storekeeper

The Storekeeper will be responsible for the daily operational activities of the Stores Department at The Caves. He/She will be responsible for organizing the safe and efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of warehoused goods and must ensure that documentation exists for policies and procedures, logs and any other document required to properly manage the Stores Department.

Preferred Profile:
  • ACCA II or Bachelor of Science in Accounting; at least three (3) in a similar capacity with solid financial analysis, cost accounting and/or stores management experience gained in the industry
  • Proven problem solving and prioritization skills, able to multitask while maintaining accuracy
  • Highly responsive to issues, comfortable working at a fast pace, balancing conflicting priorities
  • Demonstrated skills in prioritization and time management to ensure that reports are timely compiled and workload is managed effectively within agreed time frames and deadlines
  • Strong work ethic, a mature approach with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively, as part of a team to ensure team and business goals are met efficiently
