Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Finance Manager, the Accountant is responsible for the effective and efficient coordination and monitoring of the financial and accounting functions of the Department whilst providing supervision of staff to ensure the smooth management of the accounting systems and compliance with statutory requirements and best practices.

Under the direction of the Finance Manager, the Accountant is responsible for the effective and efficient coordination and monitoring of the financial and accounting functions of the Department whilst providing supervision of staff to ensure the smooth management of the accounting systems and compliance with statutory requirements and best practices.
Responsiblities include:
- Maintains integrity of data and accounting systems
- Checks payroll to ensure that the inputs are correctly recorded
- Checks purchases and revenue journal reports
- Maintains payroll and fixed asset registers
- Manages the monthly reconciliation of the Corps sub-ledgers
- Collates the annual budget
- Conducts management audits as required
Qualifications:
- Degree in Accounting, or Finance, ACCA level 2 or equivalent qualifications
- Three (3) years supervisory experience in an Accounting Derpartment
- Experience in the public sector an asset
