Job Title:
Cost Control Clerk

Department: Accounts

Location: Sandy Bay (Hanover)

Core Function
The Cost Control Clerk is responsible for monitoring the compliance of various locations with the organization's overall budget and reporting any deviations from this budget.

The Cost Control Clerk is expected to handle communications with vendors, clients, and internal locations/departments, assist with inventory, database, and record maintenance and prepare financial reports.

Education and Experience
  • Minimum of an Associate Degree in Accounting
  • At least two (2) years working in an Accounting department
  • Prior experience in costing would be a distinct asset
  • Proficient in computer skills, including Excel, Word and an Inventory Management System
  • Detail-oriented and able to work flexible hours and on weekend
  • Exceptionally well organized with an aptitude for data
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Solid networking and interpersonal skills
  • Able to generate budgets and reports
  • Strong presentation skills, able to explain concepts concisely and accurately
  • Able to develop strong, cooperative relationships with location heads

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Working closely with relevant locations to ensure that the management of inventory is within the guidelines provided
  • Review budgets and report on variances
  • Conduct inventory and stock counts and determine value and quantity of stock
  • Prepare inventory reconciliation for food and beverage outlets, and any other location required
  • Prepare costing of recipes
  • Work with the Cost Controller to monitor location expenditure
  • Calculating the break-out of items and accurately posting the various components
  • Identify and report stock discrepancies
Special Conditions associated with the job
  • May be required to work in outdoor environment
  • May be required to work beyond normal hours
Performance Criteria
The job is satisfactorily performed when:
  • Inventory and reporting data are compiled accurately
  • Documents are properly filed and maintained.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a telephone operator or in a customer service role is advantageous but not mandatory; on-the-job training will be provided.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and a clear, pleasant phone voice.
  • Strong customer service orientation with a focus on attentiveness and problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with telephone systems and call handling procedures.

Data Entry Clerk - MIS/IT 2 (Hanover & Trelawny, Jamaica) - Jamaica Constabulary Force

The Human Resource Division of the Jamaica Constabulary Force welcomes applications from suitably qualified applicants to fill the following position:

DATA ENTRY CLERK (MIS/IT 2)

TWO (2) POSITIONS - ONE (1) IN HANOVER AND ONE (1) IN TRELAWNY
Salary Range: $852,707 - $1,013,600 per annum.

Job Purpose:

The incumbent is responsible for inputting data into relevant database as well as transcribing routine pre-coded information, verify data for accuracy and completeness in accordance with prescribed standards of speed and accuracy as detailed below:
  1. Examine traffic tickets and input data in the Traffic Ticketing System (T.T.I.S.);
  2. Scan and save traffic ticket images;
  3. Report malfunctioning equipment or any other constraints which might prevent the timely completion of assignments
  4. Identify and correct errors which become evident in the data entry process
  5. Sort and prepare traffic tickets in order for court dates;
  6. List outstanding tickets for payment at the Court Offices from Intec (previous traffic ticketing solution;
  7. Update tickets paid at the Collectorates that exist as outstanding in the Intec database;
  8. Prepare driving records requested by individuals or companies;
  9. Respond to queries from members of the public as necessary;
  10. Record information for tickets that cannot be entered on the Traffic Ticketing Issuing System (T.T.I.S.)
Other Responsibilities
  • Perform other related functions assigned from time to time 


Required competencies:
  1. Expert knowledge of relevant computer systems and applications
  2. Working knowledge of modern office practices, systems and procedures
  3. Knowledge of the Police Department's operations
