The Chief Steward is responsible for overseeing the cleanliness, hygiene, and overall sanitation standards of the kitchen and dining areas. This leadership role ensures that all stewarding operations comply with health and safety regulations, maintain high standards of cleanliness, and support the smooth operation of the Food & Beverage department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate all stewarding staff to ensure efficient and effective cleaning and sanitation practices.
  • Implement and monitor hygiene standards in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Oversee the cleaning of all kitchen equipment, utensils, dishes, and service areas, ensuring they are maintained in excellent condition.
  • Manage stock levels of cleaning supplies and equipment, placing orders as needed to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Conduct regular inspections of stewarding areas and kitchen to identify and resolve cleanliness or safety issues promptly.
  • Develop and train stewarding team members on proper cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and company standards.
  • Collaborate with Kitchen and F&B management to coordinate cleaning schedules, especially during peak times or special events.
  • Maintain accurate record-keeping related to sanitation, cleaning schedules, and inventory.
  • Promote a culture of safety, cleanliness, and teamwork among stewarding staff.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Proven experience in stewarding, kitchen supervision, or hospitality management.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail
