The fitness instructor will lead, instruct, and motivate guests in exercise activities, including cardiovascular exercise (exercises for the heart and blood system), strength training, and stretching. He / She works with people of all ages and skill levels, and must provide high quality, results-focused to facilitate people of all ages and varying needs.
- Demonstrates how to carry out various exercises and routines
- Watches clients do exercises and show or tell them correct techniques to minimize injury and improve fitness
- Ensures all facilities and equipment are in good working order
- Advances and constantly update knowledge of the principles of fitness and training, concepts of health and the effects of exercise on the human body.
- Demonstrates advanced knowledge of the general principles of nutrition and influence on the performance of exercise activities
- Gives alternative exercises during workouts or classes for different levels of fitness and skill
- Monitors clients’ progress and adapt programs as needed
- To maintain all areas of the Gym to a clean, safe and high standard
- Explains and enforce safety rules and regulations on the use of exercise equipment
- Gives clients information or resources about nutrition, weight control, and lifestyle issues
- Gives emergency first aid if needed
- Organizes and lead group exercise sessions, which can include aerobic exercise, stretching, muscle conditioning, or meditation.
Qualification
- Minimum 2 years’ as a Gym Instructor
- Minimum 1-2 certificates as an instructor in any studio-based exercise class
- CPR certified
