EXECUTIVE HOUSEKEEPER

The successful candidate will be responsible for directing and controlling all housekeeping activities and maintaining guest rooms and public areas in accordance with company standards.

Specific Requirements/Duties of the Position Include:
  • Developing an annual budget including staffing guide and capital requirements.
  • Coordinating with the Maintenance and Front Office Managers regarding projects and preventive maintenance.
  • Supervising and coordinating the activities of Housekeeping staff and Quality Floor Inspectors.
  • Working in close cooperation with executives, identifying problems and solutions to improve the housekeeping and hotel efficiency.
  • Investigating new and improved cleaning equipment and methods and evaluating their effectiveness
  • Maintaining hotel standards, policies and procedures as it relates to health and safety.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel/Business Management or equivalent
  • Minimum three years’ work experience in a similar or comparative position
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • International experience would be an advantage.
  • The ability to analyse, resolve problems and exercise good judgment.
  • Must be abreast of current trends within the hospitality industry.

Room Technician

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that furniture, fixtures and equipment in guest rooms and associated areas are properly maintained. He/she works closely with the Rooms Division to ensure that the physical appearance in and around the room is in keeping with the highest quality and standards.

Specific Requirements/Duties of the Position Include:
  • Checking electrical, air conditioning and plumbing equipment and fixtures in rooms to ensure they are in optimum condition physically and operationally.
  • Checking carpentry, painting, masonry and tiling in the rooms to ensure the rooms are in optimum condition.
  • Inspecting internal and external structure of rooms and reporting defects.
  • Assisting senior technicians and tradesmen for more complex repairs as necessary.
  • Carrying out assigned duties in respect of firefighting, fire protection and safety, and familiarity with operating firefighting equipment.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Minimum of a High School Leaving Certificate/Diploma
  • Certificate from recognised Tertiary and/or Vocational Training Institution
  • Skill level and/or Technical Competence equivalent to at least Level III HEART Trust NTA certification
  • Previous experience in a similar role or related field

As a Telephone Operator, you will be the first point of contact for guests and callers seeking assistance or information. Your primary responsibility will be to handle incoming and outgoing calls efficiently and professionally, providing exceptional customer service and directing inquiries to the appropriate departments. Responsibilities:
  • Greet callers in a friendly and professional manner, identifying the hotel and introducing yourself courteously.

The Executive Housekeeper will be required to coordinate and manage the House-keeping team ensuring all tasks are completed to the required standards.

LANDSCAPER

The successful candidate will be responsible for the cultivation and care of the resort’s grounds and landscaping. This includes planting flowers, mowing, pulling weeds, repairing structures, and maintaining the appearance of buildings.

Ensuring that the grounds are kept in immaculate condition.
Operating equipment (power saw, riding mower, blower, edger etc.) to perform tasks.
Applying pesticide to rid grounds of pests such as mosquitos, wasps, ticks etc
Applying fertilizer to the grounds to enhance growth.
Performing minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in grounds keeping.
