Quality Assurance Officer (Kingston, Jamaica) - LASCO Manufacturing Limited

LASCO Manufacturing Limited, a leading food manufacturing company seeks to recruit a dynamic individual for the position of Quality Assurance Officer.

Reporting directly to the Quality Assurance Manager, the ideal candidate will execute the following duties:

• Achieve quality assurance operational objectives by contributing information and analyse production as it regards output, quality and customer-service standards.
• Identify and resolve problems, completing audits, determining system improvement and recommending change
• Conduct hazard analysis, identifying critical control points and preventive measures, establishing critical limits, monitoring procedures, corrective actions, and verification procedures and monitoring inventories
• Validate quality processes through established product specifications and quality attributes, measuring production, documenting evidence; thereby adding to quality assurance procedures
• Prepare quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, stability studies, recalls, corrective actions, and re-validations

The ideal candidate must possess the following skills:

• Process Improvement skills
• Excellent at analyzing information 
• Strong planning skills
• Able to communicate with persons at all levels
• Quality engineering skills
• Attention to detail, especially when dealing with complex matters
• mature and responsible individual 
• High contextual knowledge of food manufacturing operations
• Proficient in the use of computer applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Job Specifications:

• Degree in Microbiology, Biology, Food Science or Chemistry or a related discipline
• Minimum of three (3) years working experience in a similar position 
• At least three (3) years working experience in a similar position
• At least three (3) years experience in a food manufacturing plant
